Snowflakes, Doilies, Snail, Heart, TIAS, Ornaments, Snowman, Angel, Bookmarks, Edging, Necklaces, Butterflies and Motifs

The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing me to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. The blogs are ALL checked whenever there is an update using the links list in the sidebar on the right, there is no need to advise me that you have added new content. If your new items haven't shown up, it's because I haven't had time to do an update yet.
3. I can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. I don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell me when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. From past experience I know the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let me know so that I continue to check your blog on a regular basis. Also let me know if once was enough so that I can move your blog to the list of past participants.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.
6. Tatting 25 motifs in a year typically means tatting 2 motifs per month. Tatters who do not post any tatting content for 5 or 6 months will be removed from the list of participants.
---------------

Sarah tatted a little snowflake from Myra Piper's "Tatting" using large lacy picots which left an open area in the middle. Tatting it again with small joining picots tightened up the centre where the picots overlap. Blocking and starching gives it nice pointy tips.

Batty Tatter finished Jan Stawasz's doily number 6 from Tatting theory and patterns, which is a gift for a good friend. This cute snail is from Inga Madsen's book "Tatted Animals".

Elsa tatted up some samples in different threads for comparison. She made two Hearts from Lilas' pattern, one in white and one in red and gave them to Eliette and Carole at Aux Pierres Fines jewellery store where they are perfectly at home among the other other gems.

Melanie has day 6 of TIAS done and the part she thought was a beak is really an ear. She's committed to another round of the challenge and so far this year she has tatted an ornament cover, 10 shawl crosses, a snowman by Melanie Cervi, Jane’s TIAS, another shawl angel and some work on the flag.

Sue has her next instalment of TIAS done and still thinks it's a triffid. But the next segment has it looking as crazy as a March hare. Or more like a were-rabbit. Now her TIAS is looking like Jimmy Stewart's friend Harvey but since he's a tomato soup colour she's named him Harvey Campbell.

Linda tatted the first Nancy Tracy snowflake in Lizbeth Blue Ice size 40 and the second one in Lizbeth White size 80. Then she sprayed them with Stiffen stuff to keep them perky. She finished another Hexie Block she's calling, the Cardinal and the Owlets. The cardinal is felt and the wee owls are tatted.

Grace has pulled out all of her UFO's or Unfinished Objects. Starting top left:  Ribbon Christmas tree by Jane Eborall, the little black thing is the first bit of a Celtic doily by Totus Mel, then there's Renulek 2015 doily, purple Hearts and Flowers cross by Julie Patterson which just needs a tassel, the blue cross needs only one arm, the Amusement Doily, pattern by Celtess, is almost finished, the Star Doily from Workbasket only needs 4 more rows to complete the last point before adding a super easy border, and of course Jane's tat along is the light blue bit up there by the cat shuttle. The Ecru doily with yellow rings around the border is from free-tatting.com Doily #13. Then there's Jan Stawasz' giant doily in Polish magazine from 2008.

Claire tatted Corina Meyfeldt earring pattern using beads and seed beads 4mm Toho 15/0 in jet black. The thread is Lizbeth 20 Ocean Sunset # 155 on the left and Fruit Fizz  139 on the right.

Diane has another Spinning Wheel glass mat done, this one is in size 20 Lizbeth, Leafy Greens. Another Spinning Wheel glass mat joins the collection, this one in size 20 Lizbeth, Salmon Med. #628. Here's all her tatting done in January. She needed a bookmark, so she tatted this one from the back of her Moonlit tatting shuttle package in Lizbeth Peacock Blues. She did it again in Lizbeth Salmon Med #628 and the flowers don't seem as prominent in this colour. Spinning Wheel glass mat in Lizbeth size 20, Wedgewood DK #656 is coming along nicely. It's already finished and now Diane's looking for something else to tat. Mary Konior's Primrose Path pattern from A Pattern Book of Tatting in red, white and blue. Her newest Spinning Wheel glass mat is in size 20 Lizbeth, Angel's Love #151. The second primrose motif for her Primrose Path doily has been completed.

Fox is still waiting for her thread to arrive and in the interim the hanky lace is growing and she's loving how it looks.

Julie tatted day 9 of TIAS and it's still a mystery. On day 10 it's taking shape. Day 11 everyone agrees it's a rabbit.

Laurette has decided to tat at least one item from every tatting book she owns and this one is Pretty Petal Doily from Traditional Tatting Patterns by Rita Weiss.

Lilas hasn't made a lot of progress on her tatted necklace collar, since she had to cut it off the foliage and start again. She thinks part of the problem is that the cabochons she is working with are smaller that the gemstone medallions on the original piece. This is what she has so far.

Margaret is working on a butterfly design as her Pinterest challenge and between being in the hospital and getting frustrated with the design and not liking the colour, she's just about fed up with it. The design looks like a variation of the butterfly from New Dimensions in Tatting by To de Haan-van Beek.

Marie tatted the edging by Sherry Pence to finish off this towel. Sarah Wood created a tatted Kevin from Minions which Marie did and added tatted glasses since she didn't have the materials to make the eyes/goggles as designed.

HisKid tatted the Ruth bookmark/bracelet by Elain P. Gan in size 20 Lizbeth Summer Fun small clear beads. She was playing around with this simple design trying to get the rings to overlap. This is a pattern from Ninetta called Superduo Squared Motif which has intrigued her since she first saw it done in size 40 Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk with dark purple beads. These Egyptian Flower Earrings on Anika's blog she tatted in  size 40 Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk. with gold bugle beads and seed beads. Here's the pair of them done. Another bracelet by Ealaine, this one is called Sweet Flowers bracelet tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Juicy Watermelon. She just finished the outer round of these earrings, the top ones are are size 40 Lizbeth Tropical Punch and the bottom ones are in size 40 Lizbeth Juicy Watermelon. She's working on Four Patch from the book Tatted-Quilt-Squares by Billie Heisler and this is done in size 20 Lizbeth Western Sunset, and Lilac Med. The Celtic Butterfly from Rozella Linden's Tatted Butterfly Garden book  is tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash and Navy and not bad for a first attempt. Intermediate Tatted Butterfly from Tatted Hair Pin Lace Butterflies by Rozella Linden worked out fairly well.

Wanda was visiting her aunt and noticed this Tatted Cat by Rebecca Jones that she made for her 20 years ago and was thrilled to see that it's still being appreciated.

I got the book out and yes the butterfly is in there, it's is very similar but the body is different and the book does not have beads, I will when I finished butterfly make a bite that the butterfly is similar to the one in the book. Thanks Sharon for telling me, I only had this pattern that is proving to be a pain.
