Snowflake, Doily, Motifs, Ornaments and a Collar

Sue made it to 25 with Jon's Quantiesque Snowflake done in size 20 Lizbeth Christmas Delight. Now she's contemplating another 25.
Agasunset tatted another piece from her Bloody Series. It's another fingerless glove, or slave bracelet . She has also done another cuff in white that she plans to put in her Etsy bridal shop.
Wanda is back home after her vacation and she can show us her progress on the doily. It's 6 inches across, made in DMC Cebelia size 30 ecru with two shuttles and she's wondering if its complete now or if she should add another row. Fox took another stab at a motif with cluny leaves using this pattern is from A New Approach to Tatting by Yusai Shokoin. The tallies in this design need to be larger so that they form points at the corners. However, she made a mistake the first time around and instead of scrapping it, she kept going and made a star shaped motif. Playing around with left over thread practising split chains, she realized that she needs 2 shuttles with the same colour thread to make a split chain without an apparent colour break. The lovely pastel beads that she bought to go with the Bre-Aly thread were too small, so she went back to try again and found some slightly larger with bigger holes. If you thought Fox was tired of tatting around rings, you'd be wrong, and here's one more to prove it.
Marty was beginning to think that her plan of doing 25 ornaments for the challenge might not work out after all, especially when getting the lace to stay on ornaments that you can't stick a pin in became problematic. Then she had a discussion with Mike and gleaned some new ideas for how to do it. One of them involves tatting a ring with picots corresponding to the number of picots on the ball cover. That seems simple enough. Of course changing to 1.75 inch glass ornaments and 0.75 inch ornaments helps too.
Shirl just finished this black tatted collar in black DMC Perle size 12, which she started in Aug 2009. She didn't complete it due to a huge mistake, but she finally cut out about 2 inches of work, and finished it. The pattern can be found in Tatting Patterns by Lyn Morton. Thread used is DMC Perle size 12 in black. Now she's contemplating doing a tatted button to go with it.
